Classic Album Review: Suiciety | The Pan Fry Method

The Winnipeg bruisers fuse killer lyrics with blistering tracks on their indie release.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

HOME BASE: South of Heaven.

GENRE: Heavy, mental.

REVIEW: With song titles like Patriotism For Dummies, We Rule So You Don’t Have To and Broke, Depressed And Worried About My Future, it’s obvious Suiciety have a way with words — and a killer sense of humour. Which is not to say they don’t take themselves seriously. On their independent full-length The Pan Fry Method, these boys get down to business with a vengeance, kicking out blistering tracks with the galloping beats and guitar pyrotechnics of classic Iron Maiden, the darkness and wallop of death metal and the political rhetoric of hardcore. Plus, you gotta love a band that sings, “Blow up all the dance bars and end the stupid music right now.”
