Keeley Adds Echo Everywhere With The Help of Tim Brown

The Dublin singer & the Boo Radleys bassist join forces for a darkly dreamy remix.

Keeley enlists Boo Radleys’ bassist Tim Brown to crank up Echo Everywhere with a new remix — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Following the release of her debut album Floating Above Everything Else on June 30, Dublin singer-songwriter Keely spent the summer on the move, promoting herself in the U.S. and embarking on her first U.K. tour. Ever the tireless self-promoter on social media, she befriended Miki Berenyi (Lush), Darling Buds, Damon Gough (Badly Drawn Boy) and Boo Radleys, all of whom have been her musical idols since her teenage years. The latter connection prompted Brown to remix one of his favourite tracks from her album.

“When I first heard Keeley’s album, it was the first new ‘indie’ record I had heard in a long time that actually struck a chord,” Brown says. “A deep and mature authenticity within, and dark themes that made me wonder. With Echo Everywhere, I just felt compelled to reach out and offer my services. I heard fuzz bass and Valentines synths in my head, so I had to set them free! And just wanted it to be ‘Boo’ loud at the end. Selfish really. Keeley could have said no, so blame her.”

As with all her songs, Echo Everywhere highlights Keeley’s ongoing fascination with the murder — in this case, the short life and tragic death of teenage German backpacker Inga Maria Hauser, who was brutally slain in Northern Ireland in 1988 and whose case remains unsolved, despite many promising leads pointing to the culprits. As an authority on the subject, Keeley recently appeared in Murder In The Badlands, a moving BBC documentary on the case. A brand new film centered around Keeley’s involvement is in development.

To cap off a successful year, Keeley will play a series of shows with new band members Lukey Foxtrot on bass and Tom Fenner (ex-Microdisney) on drums. Her latest tour includes two Irish shows as special guest of former Morrissey guitarist and songwriting partner Alain Whyte.
