Classic Album Review: AC/DC | Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

If you don’t own this album, you’re not a real AC/DC fan.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Warner’s loss is a metal fan’s gain. When Australian riff-rock legends AC/DC recently signed a deal with Sony, they took their catalog along. Over the coming months, most of it is getting refurbished and re-released. Here’s the first batch. For those about to rock, we salute them.

AC/DC
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

FIRST RELEASED: 1976 in Australia, though a. U.S. version didn’t appear until 1981.

HIGHLIGHTS: The band ups the ante with the fist-pumping vengeance of the title track, the adrenalized Rocker, the swaggering Problem Child, the naughty Love At First Feel and the sophomoric double-entendre Big Balls. If you don’t own this album, you’re not a real AC/DC fan.

EXTRAS! EXTRAS! Like the rest of this series, this disc comes in a high-quality carboard digipack with a 16-page booklet of liner notes and vintage pix. No new tunes, though.
