Carroll Love Needs More Than 90 Proof To Get Over You

The country-pop singer-songwriter drinks to a a breakup in his latest single.

Carroll Love needs hard liquor to get through hard times in his latest single More Than 90 Proof — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Atop a pop-country jam with glistening guitars, a churchy organ and a head-nodding beat, Love sings about putting a woman on a pedestal only to see her leave for another dude. Now, he’s not looking to whoop it up at a Friday night bonfire or tailgate with friends; he needs blissful silence that comes from a bottle that lives up to the song’s title.

“I knew I wanted to make a song that hits hard and cuts deep, but is also enjoyable,” says Love, who was born in Georgia and grew up in Florida. His parents divorced when he was very young and he grew up singing in a little country church where his grandfather was the preacher. He listened to everything from country radio to Elvis Presley to Bon Jovi to Nickelback, and eventually began writing songs and filling notebooks with lyrics.

Turning his cherished pastime into something more, Love recorded and released his first trio of singles over the past year. Listen to More Than 90 Proof above, hear more from Carroll Love below, and follow him on Twitter, Facebook and TikTok.
