Curtis Labelle Kicks Up His Heels With Run Run Away

The pop-rock pianist plays in the key of joy on his exuberant new single & video.

Curtis Labelle puts his best foot forward with his old-school piano-rocker Run Run Away — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

A buoyant, high-energy single reminiscent of vintage Elton John, the Alberta singer-songwriter’s latest single comes with a driving backbeat, an infectious chorus and a blazing guitar solo to boot. Harnessing that brand of collaborative energy into a killer song is what making music is all about for the Sylvan Lake showman. “The energetic experience I get from creating a new song and developing it with a great team always brings me joy,” says Labelle. “I have never been more thrilled on my journey to the stars than I am being with the people that I work with.”

With Labelle taking the lead on songwriting, piano and vocals, along with Logan Klaus on guitar, Matt Dubois on bass and Nygel Lauzon on drums, Run Run Away was created together with Juno-nominated producer Mark Troyer at Calgary’s Evergreen Sound studios. It’s the first of seven singles due this year as Labelle establishes his “new take on classic, energetic piano rock” en route to a full album release next year. Labelle released his debut single Pawn In My Shade in 2018, with #familyislove and Blue Dream following last year.
