Late-Night Music (3 Good Things Edition) | Nov. 4, 2020

If only the rest of the TV landscape were as fulfilling as these three performances.

I am still avoiding network TV and live broadcasts. As should you, unless you’re some sort of weird glutton for punishment. The sole exception to that rule: The fine, shiny nuggets regularly brought forth from the mines of the Late-Night TV Music world.

Wednesday, to its credit, delivered a few choice finds. First and foremost, The Kills — singer Alison Mosshart and multi-instrumentalist Jamie Hince — popped up on The Late Late Show With James Corden to hype their upcoming rarities set Little Bastards by playing Raise Me in what I can only presume is their underground practice space/studio/panic room/survival bunker. Very groovy. Though perhaps not quite as groovy as Common’s Say Peace, which he performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with the aid of Black Thought & PJ. And finally, proving once again that good things really do come in threes every now and then, Leon Bridges joined forces with Lucky Dave to present All About You on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. If only the rest of TV were so pleasantly fulfilling.
