And that something is The Bird & The Bee’s magnificent synth-rock reimaginging of the Van Halen classic Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love — featuring none other than Dave Grohl on drums — on Wednesday night’s edition of The Late Late Show With James Corden. The track comes from the L.A. duo’s VH tribute album — the latest in their Interpreting the Masters series — which comes out tomorrow. And it was just one of two classic performances on Wednesday. Also bringing the nostalgia to late night: Eddy Grant, revisiting his signature song Electric Avenue with the help of The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Can you take it higher than that? I think not. But I’m interested to see what the talk shows pull out tonight.
