Something old, something new and some Scottish R&B too. Those were the musical offerings you had to choose from on Thursday’s late-night talk shows. The biggest name of the bunch was surely R&B phenom Khalid, presenting the single Talk from his just-released Free Spirit album on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. You also had fuchsia-haired Scotland’s Nina Nesbitt making her North American debut with the song Best You Had on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. But the performance of the night for me was retro-rocker Mattiel kicking out Fives and Tens on Last Call With Carson Daly, along with the slower number Keep the Change. Will do.
