Two, four, six, eight: What do I appreciate? A decent selection of musical performances on the late-night TV talk shows. And after a pretty slow stretch last week, most of the programs were back up to speed on Monday. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon hosted the long-overdue return of Canadian electro-popster Grimes, who unveiled her heavy, technophobic new single We Appreciate Power with the help of a guitarist, two dancers and a giant lazy Susan. Meanwhile, over on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the formerly relevant Ice Cube went for safety in numbers, breaking out his massive band to perform The New Funkadelic, which is either a loving homage or a shameless ripoff of old Funkadelic, depending on your POV. On a more intimate note, Late Night with Seth Meyers hosted Danish soul-popsters Lukas Graham and their typically endearing number Love Someone. And Jimmy Kimmel Live went country for the evening with two songs from Cole Swindell: The upbeat Love You Too Late, followed by the mandatory ballad Break Up in the End. Show your appreciation by watching them all.
