Classic Album Review: Crosby Stills & Nash | Greatest Hits

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Amazingly, this is the first single-disc CSN retrospective to be issued in ages (there was a four-disc box in 1991 and a two-disc import in ’98).

Even more amazingly, this 19-track compilation — which was produced by Graham Nash and only covers their first four studio albums — overlooks such seeming essentials as Woodstock, Almost Cut My Hair and Fair Game, never mind later tunes like American Dream.

FIRST RELEASED: 1969 – 1982.

HIGHLIGHTS: Folk-rock classics like Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Long Time Gone, Just A Song Before I Go, Marrakesh Express, Teach Your Children and Wasted On The Way.

EXTRAS! EXTRAS! Just a 24-page booklet with a short essay, some recording data and too many artsy photo montages.
