Lewis OfMan colours outside the lines on his new album Cristal Medium Blue (Sparkle Edition / Live) — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
OfMan, along with The Cristals — the four-piece band he formed to tour his second album — breathe new life into the record with this special release showcasing magically re-imagined live recordings of six tracks.
Released in February last year, Cristal Medium Blue, Lewis OfMan’s second album, captures a journey of transformation and self-acceptance. Blending alternative pop with touches of psychedelic rock, acoustic warmth, and electronic textures, it reflects moments of joy, heartbreak, and introspection. Inspired by personal shifts — like a breakup and travels through Greece — the record feels like a sunlit daydream, rich with emotional depth and sonic exploration. Collaborations with Empress Of, Camille Jansen, Gabriela Richardson and Alaska Reid add fresh layers to his evolving sound.
Celebrating a year since its release, the new Sparkle Edition was recorded while the band toured the U.S. last year. Each track comes accompanied by footage of live recordings, recorded poolside at an L.A. home.

“As you might guess I am used to making music alone and Cristal Medium Blue was made by myself in L.A., playing all instruments,” OfMan says. “But I wouldn’t do that on stage. I spent several months searching for musicians and at the end the band was made of musicians from three different countries. Such incredibly talented and inspiring people. We shared deep connections and eventually called ourselves The Cristals. It was intense work so we had to get an archive of it. After the last show of the tour at The Fonda in L.A., we went back to the house where I shot the cover of the album a year prior, in between my Coachella shows, and we shot this live session.”
Reflecting on his love for L.A. and this year’s devastating fires, Lewis adds: “It’s out as part of the one-year anniversary of Cristal Medium Blue, an album deeply inspired by the little life and time I spent in Los Angeles. One year after the making of this music the city had to face those tragic fires that destroyed entire neighborhoods and many houses from people I know. As many still grieve, to bring back beautiful memories of such sweet moments in a city I love so much is important, when we had the terrible proof of how fragile this can be.”
