Classic Album Review: Lawsuit | Stoned to Death

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

STYLE: Full metal racket.

SOUNDS LIKE: Judas Priest — if they were the house band at the Native Club in 1980.

POINTED COMMENTS: Some guys know how to grow old gracefully. Bon vivant, raconteur, man-about-town and all-around scallywag Shaky is, thankfully, not one of those guys. After more than 20 years on the scene, he’s still the same guitar-abusing, headbanging, fist-pumping riff-rock ruffian he’s always been. Hear for yourself on his new retrospective Stoned to Death, which compiles 10 hilarious sleaze-metal anthems like It’s Hard On Love and Save it For Me with subtle, mature new tracks Skin to Win and Love Song in F#. Check your brain at the door, crack open a beer on your teeth and give’er, eh?

STANDOUT: The barnburning Bad Boys of Rock is undeniably the finest fusion of boogie-metal and Gregorian chant ever recorded.
