Classic Album Review: Goo Goo Dolls | Live in Buffalo July 4th 2004

Clearly, God is a Replacements fan.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

The pop-rock trio (and a pair of hired-gun sidemen) get thoroughly, hilariously soaked but soldier on impressively when a torrential downpour swamps their Independence Day gig on the steps of their hometown’s City Hall. Clearly, God is a Replacements fan.

ON THE DVD: The 19-song concert, including hits like Name and Iris, plus — for reasons I am still trying to determine — a cover of Supertramp’s Give A Little Bit.

ON THE CD: The show, along with a studio version of the Supertramp track.
