Classic Christmas Album Review: Chris Isaak | Christmas

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Retrobilly crooner Isaak reminds us you can’t spell Christmas without Chris on this likeable set of lightweight fare.

CHESTNUTS ROASTED: Blue Christmas (natch); Let it Snow; White Christmas; Santa Claus is Coming to Town (with — wait for it — Stevie Nicks).

YULE LOVE: Twangy originals like Hey Santa! and Christmas on TV; the gospel number Last Month of the Year.

YULE WISH: That he rocked a little harder — Christmas doesn’t always have to be this much of a Silent Night.
