This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
A couple of years after the breakup of The Replacements and a couple of years before he joined Guns N’ Roses, bassist Tommy Stinson tried to get a new band called Perfect off the ground — only to see their 1997 debut album shelved due to typical music-biz idiocy and shenanigans.
Seven long years later, Stinson finally has the last laugh as this raw slab of ’Mats-meets-Mott rock gets a long-overdue release. If only he could do the same for GN’R’s Chinese Democracy.
