This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
Sure, the title is a mouthful. But it sure tells the story.
Swampy blues and two-fisted rock are what blues fixture Billy Joe Green dishes up on his third full-length. And he does it with plenty of style. As a guitarist, Green has a sharp, string-yanking technique that puts you in mind of Texas greats like Albert Collins and Stevie Ray Vaughan, with a dash of Jimi Hendrix thrown in for good measure. As a singer, his smoky rasp and lazy drawl might remind you of Keith Richards. If that doesn’t spell Muskrat Blues And Rock & Roll, update your dictionary.
