Tâches embarks on a groovy musical pilgrimage with the help of fellow musical adventurer David Satori on the single Searching For God — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
British-born, Costa Rica-based producer Tâches is known for his passion for blending genres and pushing the boundaries of sound — and he continues to captivate audiences with a unique and immersive sonic experience that is both timeless and cutting-edge. Searching For God features the talents of Satori, renowned for his work with Beats Antique and Dirtwire. This evocative track is the first of a series of collaborations born out of a chance encounter in a village in Guatemala and brought to fruition in the rainforests of Costa Rica.
It all began on the winter solstice of 2022, at an intimate festival hosted at Eagles Nest, a unique hotel perched atop a mountain with breathtaking views of a volcano that erupts every 20 minutes. In the heart of San Marcos La Laguna, Tâches and Satori met as neighbours. Their rooms were side by side, separated only by a balcony divider. Conversation flowed easily, and it wasn’t long before they discovered that they were both headliners for the festival.
After the festival, Tâches returned to Laurel Canyon above Los Angeles, only to discover that fate had more in store. Satori, of all places, moved just down the road in the same canyon. The proximity promised a creative collaboration, but life had other plans, and it wasn’t until the final week before Satori’s move to Colorado that the two finally came together to write. What started as a casual jam session turned into a prolific creative burst, with the pair crafting 10 tracks in a single sitting — an entire album conjured up in just a few hours.
However, the tracks were set aside, lying dormant on a hard drive until Tâches unearthed them in Costa Rica this year. The ambience of the jungle infused the tracks with new energy, evolving into the sonic experiences they are today. In Searching For God, listeners can hear the subtle sounds of the rainforest woven into the music, blending nature with the duo’s soundscapes.
“Searching For God is just the beginning,” says Tâches. “There are nine more tracks that carry the essence of the places where they were conceived and the moments that shaped them. I can’t wait to share them with the world.”
Over the last 12 years, Tâches has released more than 100 tracks on his own label Glitter Cowboy, as well as other labels like Anjunadeep, Get Physical and Kindisch. He has been asked to remix Rüfüs Du Sol, Zhu and Wiz Khalifa. As a performer, he has graced iconic clubs and festivals worldwide.
Tâches believes music production need not be just a technical skill but a spiritual practice — an art form that has the power to effect positive change in the world. What sets him apart is his holistic approach, which seamlessly blends the development of technical mastery with deep intuition.
