Two members of that Austin indie-folk outfit are also front and centre here — though these 13 tracks scale back Okkervil’s backwoods intensity for a slightly more soulful and sensitive sound featuring burnished roots-pop tracks laced with tragic, Nick Drake-like vocals. They aren’t still waters, but they do run deep.
