Bobbo Byrnes Feels Like He Never Learned To Fly

The singer-songwriter battles imposter syndrome in his soaring new single.

Bobbo Byrnes takes a leap of faith in his scrappy new single Never Learned To Fly — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

The latest release from the singer-songwriter’s recent self-titled album, Never Learned To Fly is a vintage-sounding amalgam of indie-rock, power-pop and alt-country fashioned from chiming guitars, a punchy rhythm section, stacked vocal harmonies and Byrnes’ sandy, soaring vocals. “In keeping with my tradition of uncommon themes, it is about fighting imposter syndrome and other nay-sayers both inside and outside of your head,” says Byrnes.

It fits in with the rest of his eponymous album, which delves deep into themes of healing and redemption through the power of music. This latest offering features Byrnes’ unique recording technique of double-tracked guitars, creating a rich, expansive sound that stands out in today’s music landscape.

Drawing inspiration from his early influences, the album embraces the alternative rock essence of the ’80s and ’90s, echoing the sounds of iconic artists like The Church, The Cure, Paul Westerberg and U2. Each track is a testament to persistence and self-belief, offering listeners an inspiring journey through struggles and triumphs.

With this full-length, he not only revisits the musical styles that shaped him but also pushes the boundaries of his artistry, delivering a deeply personal and resonant collection of songs that affirm the enduring power of music to heal and uplift.
