Classic Album Review: Jeffie Genetic & His Clones | Need A Wave

A white dope on punk drops 10 anachronistic slices of snappy pogo-pop.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Clones ranger Jeffie Genetic is an old-school white dope on punk — complete with fake British accent, spiky haircut, cheap sunglasses, cheaper synthesizers and geeky tunes cribbed from the slush pile of ’70s U.K. new wave. Granted, these 10 anachronistic sides of snappy pogo-pop aren’t bad for a kid from Vancouver. But let’s face it: There are enough clones in the music biz already.
