Classic Album Review: Bill Evans | You Must Remember Spring

The pianist recorded this crisply produced set of introspective ballads back in 1977.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

THE SKINNY: Jazz piano trailblazer Bill Evans and his rhythm section recorded this crisply produced set of introspective and moody ballads in 1977.

THE OLDIES: A hauntingly pretty version of The Theme From M*A*S*H.

THE GOODIES: Three harder-swinging leftovers, including covers of Without A Song and Miles Davis’s Freddie Freeloader.
