Classic Album Review: Loudmouth | Loudmouth

The fearsome Chicago foursome deliver a knockout punch on their debut album.

This came out in 1999 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

The press bumpf for Chicago quartet Loudmouth’s debut has not one, but two plugs from members of Metallica. And it’s easy to see why.

This fearsome foursome’s building blocks — one part Black Sabbath bombast, one part Led Zeppelin blues-rock, a bit of Soundgarden grunge and a giant bongful of stoner-rock vibes — add up to a heavyweight punch with all the knockout power of a sledgehammer in the kisser.
