Aÿa confidently moves forward on a new romantic path on her latest single Green Light — showcasing today on Tinnitst.
A joint creation with producer Teka, the Berlin pop singer and songwriter’s newest release takes it slow and steady. Merging a minimalist, glitchy rhythm with simple synths and understated atmospherics, the smouldering track creeps along through the late-night streets, with Aÿa waking up the backseat but clearly moving behind the wheel as she steers herself on a new emotional journey:

For Aÿa, Green Light is more than just a seductive single — it’s a statement of personal empowerment and a badge of honour that reflects the time she’s put into healing longstanding personal trauma. “As an abused child I fought my attraction to danger and drama in relationships,” she explains. “With over 200 hours of therapy I found out how easily I could throw myself under the bus for someone else, without setting any boundaries to protect me. Behaving like I am the same kid that had to do everything to survive, and giving all of me when I am completely out of battery. This ongoing pattern led me to burnouts and left scars on me in a way that even when a healthy energy gets closer, I can be extra suspicious and careful.
“This song expresses that today I am aware of this pattern and can choose to whom I give my greenlight and which of them to follow. Through the fakeness and distractions, I found sobriety and communication as the right key for my judgment and my inner peace. I learnt to accept the fact that I am a long-term lover. I know how to apologize and I prefer to forgive… but it doesn’t mean I allow anymore compromises on my needs. Green Light is a monologue, a piece of mind to make sure we all know where I am standing and who I am.”
For those who don’t already know: Avia Shoshani is a self-taught singer-songwriter and producer. Her songs offer a unique twist on her Moroccan and Yemeni roots, blended with contemporary pop and R&B melodies.
Growing up in an environment of political and personal crisis, she put her struggles into her musical storytelling. She released her first English tracks in 2020, and released the EP Used in 2023. She has performed on the biggest world stages including Eurovision, sold-out arenas, TV shows, clubs, circuses, theaters and more.
