Damon Brock celebrates resilience in his uplifting synth-pop single She Suffers So — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
The U.K. singer-songwriter’s latest release was originally written as a quiet meditation on his girlfriend’s newly sustained disability and how she faced it will solid determination. That girlfriend became Damon’s wife, and at the start of 2023 she suffered from long Covid, and is dealing with it with the same unflinching resolve. In response, She Suffers So has become a thumping celebration of the human spirit in adversity. Produced in Brighton by Steve Baker in the summer of 2023, its hypnotic pulsing beat drives home the message that life is worth fighting for.
Brock has been making music for 20 years, sharing it at various points in his life. However, it wasn’t until the birth of his son and the passing of his father that he really opened his music up to the world. After two singles in the last year, Damon is excited to release She Suffers So, followed by the Resolute EP in early 2024. He’s played the local open mic circuit consistently this year and is looking forward to gigs and festivals in the new year.
