Reflecting yōkai (a Japanese spirit or demon), this mystical and dark track echoes metamorphosis, emancipation, failure and rebirth. Makoto San shapes a transcendental and spectacular world, an invitation to travel, to hypnosis but also to frenzy and exaltation. The vibration and raw energy that this grass gives off leaves its mark. The depth of the bamboo, the power of the skins, the crystalline of the metals and the electronic effervescence intermingle to plunge you into a mystical spell.”

Malou Madi | Jalouse

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: R&B / Soul.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Malou Madi is a vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist born in Paris and based in Brooklyn. After playing keys or singing with various people (you may have seen her on stage with Kadhja Bonet, Emel Mathlouthi or Emily King), she is now juxtaposing herself in her songs, groovy meditations rooted in ambivalence. Madi feels deeply connected to Brazilian music because it “can express existential dread very softly.” She exists in the shape-shifting space that we are all too familiar with, the space in our heads where the brain should be, the space that sometimes tells you to not leave the house or talk to anyone, but other times demands you go out dancing and hang out all night with people you don’t know.”

Movment | Violence

HOME BASE: Ireland.
GENRE: Rock.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Movment are an alternative rock bank band from Ireland. They are more dark than light, more strong than weak, more direct. Movment make observations on life and living. They mean what they say. Although guitars and bass are at the heart of their sound, it is hard to ignore the electronics that have infiltrated Movment’s core. “Violence is about anger, rage, and the turmoil in our heads at times of intense pressure,” they say. “Ask yourself what has brought us to this state? We hold ourselves back. We pause. We hesitate. It is better to move forward. Drive onwards. Take risks. Face up to the turmoil head on. Avoid procrastination. Create. Don’t be drawn into stagnation. The difficulties of life are everywhere. Push on and confront every situation that you meet!”

Nouveau Fou | Ist – Det Vol Sans Escale

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Jazz-Funk.

By drawing influences from the greatest of house, techno, or psytrance, they have the ambition to illustrate in each of their compositions one of the many subgenres of electronic music. This is the beginning of a new era for the band: that of electronic jazz dance. Inspired by the intensity of life in Istanbul and Detroit techno, Ist – Det Vol Sans Escale is a nocturnal journey, an exodus punctuated by the pulsations of the city.”
