THE TRANSLATED & EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Malena Stefano is a singer, composer and performer. She currently resides in Curitiba. In 2015 she moved to Brasília and participated in the city’s experimental music dinner, performing in art galleries and small events.
In 2019 she began to write what would become her first album: Impossível is 30 minutes of female drama telling the story of a girl imprisoned in a masmorra by a God beaten by Impossível. Her crime was challenged to control her own destiny and her sentence was to produce a pop album. Inside the masmorra, this girl reflects on romantic love, vulnerability, solidarity and the future. For this reason, Malena was called the genre of the “dungeon pop” album.
Malena Stefano is a trans woman and her biggest influences are Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Mylène Farmer, Kate Bush, Franco Battiato and Meredith Monk.”
