Here’s a nifty idea: Musicians influenced by iconoclastic genius Frank Zappa get to compile their favourite tunes from his extensive catalogue. Both Primus guitarist Larry LaLonde and Phish drummer Jon Fishman focus on FZ’s more accessible ’70s fare, which kinda gives short shrift to his early Mothers of Invention gems and later flights into classical and electronics. Even so, these are a treat for Zappaphiles and neophytes alike.
