Classic Album Review: Julee Cruise | The Art of Being a Girl

After the Twin Peaks theme Falling, it's all downhill on the ethereal vocalist's album.

This came out in 2002 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Remember Twin Peaks? Remember that ethereal theme song Falling? Well, Julee Cruise is the woman with the freeze-dried pipes who sang it. Here she sings it again. That’s fine. Unfortunately, it’s all downhill from there, as she croons a bunch of woozy, loungy, trip-hoppy, electronica-tinged songs that aren’t nearly as entrancing. Fallling indeed.
