Albums Of The Week: American Terror | Where We Are

The hard-hitting supergroup pull no punches with their topical fusion of metal & punk.

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE:American Terror’s sophomore album Where We Are is a brutal mix of metal and punk with songs you can’t help but get stuck in your head. This album is full of piss and vinegar that is going to offend the woke society and cancel culture. This album doesn’t take sides, it’s just tells the truth, good, bad and ugly…

“The past couple of years have been so crazy and my heart goes out to everyone affected by them,” says singer Brad Cox, who produced, mixed and mastered the hard-hitting supergroup’s album at his Black Paw studio outside of Atlanta. “Everyone felt this in so many different ways. For my mental health, I decided it was time to focus on writing and recording a new album. End Of America was the first song to come out of this. After that, the rest of the upcoming album basically wrote itself.“

American Terror’s critically acclaimed debut Influencer arrived in May 2020 on Megadeth bassist David Ellefson’s EMP Label Group. It was followed by a hard-hitting, genre-bending remix of the track Judgement featuring legendary rapper Sticky Fingaz. The one-off single Legend, a cover of a lost track from classic hip-hop group House of Pain, followed in February 2021. The band then teamed up with world-renowned rapper Krizz Kaliko (a frequent fixture of Tech N9ne’s records and his Strange Music label over the past two decades) to release a remix of their single She’s A Bitch. This release was followed by the aggressive, snotty, and uptempo Attitude, the first single from their upcoming sophomore album.

American Terror began as a studio project featuring members of Skid Row (drummer Rob Hammersmith), Sugar Ray (ex-bassist Murphy Karges), Phunk Junkeez (DJ Soulman) and Grayson Manor (Cox and guitarist Pat Valley). However, in the wake of enthusiastic feedback from fans and press, they decided to carry on, with Brad, Pat, Rob and fellow Grayson Manor alum GK Via in the lineup.”
