Melissa Marshall finds the love she didn’t know she needed in her new single Missin’ U — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
The first preview of the Canadian country artist’s upcoming debut EP Phoenix In The Fire, the lively and upbeat Missin’ U is about being single, happy, confident and not looking for love — until that special person walks into your life when you least expect it. Balancing sweetly melodic verses against a big bold chorus and brimming with vibrant production and a style that walks the line between pop-rock and contemporary country, it’s a song that can make itself at home on multiple summer playlists.
It’s the latest confident step forward for the New Brunswick native, who has been forging a path in the country music scene. Her summertime debut single Highway 83 and the rocking followup Smoke & Cinders reached #78 and #73 respectively on the Canadian Country Billboard Chart. Her latest release Lay It All Down has also been well received, and showcased a more the vulnerable yet powerful side of her artistry. She’s opened for CCMA award winner Aaron Goodvin, American charting artists Frankie Ballard and Brooke Eden, and has performed alongside top 20 hit artist Chris Buck Band. She can be heard this summer on her East Coast radio tour.
Building upon the momentum of her first three releases, Marshall continues to dive deep into the art of songwriting as she preps Phoenix In The Fire. This body of work promises contemporary country/pop music comprised of illuminating songs of strength, sacrifice, love, hope and inspiration best reflecting Melissa as both as an artist and individual. “I want nothing more than to share my music with the world, to be inspired and to inspire others,” she says.
