But his artistic sensibility is rooted in funk, rock and even jazz. In his 30s, he dealt with both the death of his parents and the birth of his first daughter — “One foot in the grave and the other in the cradle,” as he tells us in his title On Verra (We Will See). His latest album Comme À L’École promises authentic and introspective stories set to old-school boom-bap rhythms. The album’s songs draw on the different facets of the artist, evoking his passion for writing, his life experiences, his friendships, his childhood, his commitments and his vision of rap.”

I take inspiration from questioning my own existence and the assumptions that I make based on this reality. I love the rebellious, those that despise authority and want to fight for humanity. Fuel is a love song where a man finds a love that he deeply feels will follow him to the end of the world, into the unknown, and support him becoming the the greatest leader of men and protector of his tribe/family that he could ever be.”

Whereisluna | Cheaper

HOME BASE: Canada.
GENRE: Indie-Pop.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Toronto’s rising pop songstress Amy Han aka Whereisluna is releasing her single Cheaper, a catchy romp that deals with mental health, physical vices, and driving full-throttle into red flags. Cheaper is relatable for anyone who has looked for temporary solutions to deal with their periods of mental strain. “This song talks about mental health, sex, and zero fucks left to give. It’s being fully aware that you’re not in great shape, mentally,” Whereisluna says. “It’s having a good time and choosing the temporary solutions because therapy is expensive as fuck and I’m at least going to be satisfied and sad than horny and sad.” Whereisluna has been writing songs since she was 13. She taught herself the guitar and found quiet late-night moments staring at the moon and rehearsing on her family home balcony. This is where her moniker comes from — a combination of where her head is at and the reminder of her humble balcony beginnings.”

J. Adams | Pressure

HOME BASE: United States.
GENRE: Soul / R&B.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Singer-songwriter and producer J. Adams hails from historic Selma, Ala. His musical ability in production, singing, songwriting, and engineering are all self-taught from videos, practical application, forums, and trial and error, focusing on topics of relationships and the trials of self-realization. His recording career started in 2009 in a friend’s small home studio. J. Adams has focused on perfecting his craft and has been known to have a keen ear for melodies and beat selection. His style of singing and rapping shows his love of wordplay. He is heavily influenced by southern trap music in his production, and genres such as jazz and neo-soul in his chord structure. He likes to refer to himself as a genre-less artist, due to his multiple approaches to making music.”

Jacob Tony Rose | Rockstar

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Indie-Pop.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “I’m 21, from Paris. I’m a poet, singer and songwriter. For me, every aspect of a song is a movie, a story inspired by my experiences in life. I like to romanticize and describe everything in my life in my songs. Nonchalant, at times melancholy, eclectic and always electric, Rockstar is the fourth song off my EP The House On Fire. It’s the story of a destroyed relationship, set to psychedelic pop-rock influences.”

Innocenzo Genna | Sweet Sweden (Breakfast At Blomqvist)

HOME BASE: Belgium.
GENRE: Neo-Classical.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Innocenzo Genna has always lived music in multiple dimensions: As a musician, performer and entertainer, and as a composer and technology scholar. His interest in music is not only artistic and emotional, but also professional; for years, Inno has worked as a lawyer and policy expert. His piano compositions fall within the categories of minimalism and modern classic, with frequent combinations into blues and jazz. He is similarly conservative as a composer; his music draws heavily on harmonic and melodic practices found in 18th and 19th-century European compositions. Sweet Sweden is the instrumental version of a piano song which was intended to be completed with lyrics. The melody was inspired by a special somebody; however, life did not go in the right direction. Maybe because of that, I never found the mood to write the lyrics, so the song remained instrumental. The title is somehow linked to Swedish sweeties and desserts, some of which were available at my preferred coffee bar in Brussels, the Blomqvist Expresso Coffee Bar, an amazing nordic café which was managed years ago by an adventurous Sicilian girl (a friend, not the one for whom I fell in love).”

In It’s OK Not 2 B OK, a lot of metaphors and razor-sharp words evoke many messages line by line. I don’t have much to say here as I want you all to hear it for yourselves.
