The 64th Grammy nominations were announced today, which can only mean one thing: It’s time to start scratching you head and/or griping about the Grammy nominations.
In the former regard, you kind of have to wonder why voters decided Late Show With Stephen Colbert bandleader John Batiste deserved a whopping 11 nominations in umpteen categories — more than any other nominee, including Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, H.E.R., Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett. On the latter front, well let’s just say fans of Taylor Swift and BTS are probably vandalizing Batiste’s Wikipedia page as we speak. Bottom line: There’s always plenty to talk about when it comes to the Grammys. So that’s what Eric Alper and I are chatting about in today’s episode of Sonic Reducers. Tune in to hear us review this year’s noms, talk about who lucked out and who got snubbed, and debate which artists will be big winners when the trophies are handed out on Jan. 31. Sonic Reducers. One topic. Two music nerds. Five minutes. Everything you need to know.
