I am not a big fan of reunion albums and tours as a rule. For the most part, they inevitably pale in comparison to the original. But even I’m excited to hear that the surviving Faces — Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones — have apparently been recording new music, according to a recent interview with Woody.
If they manage to release something, it will be their first new music in about 40 years — which is certainly newsworthy enough for fellow Faces fan Eric Alper and I to spend a few minutes dishing about it in today’s episode of Sonic Reducers. Join us as we celebrate the news, delve into the storied history of this influential reverse supergroup, and lament the fact that they almost certainly won’t tour again like they did in the ’70s — with an onstage bar and bartender mixing cocktails. Sonic Reducers. One topic. Two music nerds. Five minutes. Everything you need to know.
