Classic Album Review: Fabulous Disaster | Put Out or Get Out

The female San Frandisco outfit offer a platter of hard, sugar-coated punk nuggets.

This came out in 2001 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

When The Donnas grow up, they could do worse than end up like Fabulous Disaster.

This San Francisco punk outfit featuring ex-members of Inside Out, Frightwig, Mudwimin and Angel Corpus Christi deliver the same three-chord guitar magic, the same boppy Go-Go’s-gone-bad melodies, the same snotty yelped vocals. On this sophomore album Put Out or Get Out, they compress those ingredients into hard, sugar-coated nuggets of fat-free pop-punk with titles like Down the Drain, Red Blister and Rich Bitches in Volvos. They put out, all right.
