Submission Accomplished: Heckel & Jeckel | This Is War

Take a listen to the latest musical gem that tumbled out of my digital mailbag.

Thanks to the inexplicable popularity of my Submit Music page, I always have a digital backlog of albums, EPs, singles and videos awaiting my perusal. Here’s another recent winner, along with the Bandcamp link so you can buy the music straight from the source. Tell ’em I sent ya. And if you’ve got something I need to hear, send it my way. If I think you’re half as good as you think you are, I just might include you next time.

Heckel & Jeckel
This Is War

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Indie-Rock.
THE EDITED (& TRANSLATED) PRESS RELEASE: “It’s a bit like two anguished faces in front of the world, two crows perched on an electric wire, shouting at the swarming passers-by, becting the carcasses. The duo imprint on the post-punk of the ’90s and all its nihilism to transform it into a heavy music, by its technique and its abrasive sense. An air of the Melvins and a noise tone. Riding on the no wave, the duo released, after four EPs, their first album with a dilapidated and measurably fatalistic appearance. The modern grunge group is like its predecessors, dealing with topics as topical today as they were 30 years ago. Their latest album is the delivery of a dissonant and realistic complaint, an enraged societal message and a good dose of irony. It takes the nihilism of post-punk / grunge as an example to transpose it into their modern music. A whistleblower, raw album that should give more than one thought.”

MY TWO CENTS: A three-pronged assault of stoner-rock, punk and grunge assault you from all sides. Surrender is your only option.
