THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Doug Fieger and his power-pop band The Knack will forever be synonymous with their 1979 new wave era hit My Sharona.
With a six-week run at No. 1, the inescapable hit has survived for decades becoming a staple of radio, parties, television and movie soundtracks. Beyond a debut album that sold over 10 million copies since release, Doug’s coloUrful and storied career surpassed that hit recording and included production and session work with notable artists as Ringo Starr, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne.
Forever Together is the most comprehensive retrospective of Doug’s post-Knack career with Capitol Records. This three-disc, 50-track compilation includes studio demo tracks (with a little help from his friends), Doug’s solo album First Things First, his EP of Hank Williams covers Hankerings, as well as previously unreleased Knack concert recordings. In addition to familiar tracks, such as My Sharona and Baby Talks Dirty, this collection includes rarities like In Love With The ’80s as well as covers of the vintage hits like Neil Young’s Cinnamon Girl and Jimi Hendrix’s Are You Experienced?
