Late-Night TV Music (Too Little Too Late Edition) | Jan. 5, 2021

Yep, I slept in again. Good thing I didn't miss much on the talk-show front.

So, I woke up at 7 a.m. today — then promptly went back to sleep for three more hours. When I finally came back to life, I watched some TV (where I thoroughly enjoyed watching Republicans eat shit) and perused the web (where I was unsurprised to see Neil Young being a greedy hypocrite yet again). Anyway, it looks like it’s gonna be another day of too little, too late. Ah well. At least I didn’t miss too much on the Late-Night TV Music scene.

The big cheese of the evening was surely Gwen Stefani performing her comeback-throwback ska-pop ditty Let Me Reintroduce Myself for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Honestly, I think we all know you well enough already, honey. Still, it’s pretty slim pickin’s after that. Officially, there’s only one other talk-show clip: British-Australian musical comedian Tim Minchin — I only know who he is because he has a crapload of Netflix specials I’ve never watched and never will — presenting his tune Talked Too Much, Stayed Too Long on The Late Late Show With James Corden. But there is another option: This bootleg clip of Yungblud delivering Mars on Jimmy Kimmel Live, which hasn’t been posting musical performances lately. Now, maybe I’ll take a nap. Really, what would it matter at this point?
