Dylan Burk serves up a perfectly blended shot of hard-drinking country-rock with his latest single Whiskey Mind — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
“Since I started trying to make a career in music, I’ve wanted to keep that bit of rock in my music while still keeping it country,” the sandpaper-piped singer explains. “One of the writers, Jordan Rager, did just that. When I heard the amazing mix I knew this was the right song for me. Being a co-writer for Meghan Patrick’s song Wild As Me and a tune with Jason Aldean, I knew he would know how to make an amazing song pop like Whiskey Mind.”
Burk already knows a thing or two about balancing, blending and mixing worlds and influences. “I was born 26 years ago in Knoxville, Tennessee, where my Canadian father played professional hockey and married my American mother. When he retired from the sport, we moved to Milton, Ont., the place I now call home. I loved playing hockey when I was young, but music had always been a big part of my life and I realized I wanted to pursue country music as a career.”
Now splitting time between Canada and Nashville, Burk is no stranger to performing. He has headlined well known events and festivals throughout Ontario and been on the same stage as talents like The James Barker Band, Eric Ethridge, Leah Daniels and more. He was one of the top eight finalists for The Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in 2019. Whiskey Mind was produced by the award-winning Patrick James Mathews, who has worked with the likes of Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Billy Curington, Tim Hicks and many more.
