Roddy Colmer finds his way through the darkness with the help of White Little Lights — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
The Toronto singer-songwriter’s latest single and video is a tender romantic ballad that weaves lyrics about love and loss around a haunting melody. The song builds into a stirring crescendo, blending darkness and light and ultimately leaving the listener feeling uplifted.
Produced by Ben Nudds, the song was boosted by the talents of Jason Pierce (Our Lady Peace) on drums, and Stuart Cameron (Matthew Good Band, Crash Test Dummies) on guitar. This is Colmer’s first release following the 2019 album Afterglow, which reached #2 on the Canadian Singer/Songwriter charts.
Colmer is also known as the former lead singer in the rock/reggae band Rebel Emergency, and electro-rock band Most Non Heinous. He most recently started a new grunge-rock project called Century Surfers with Jamie Gutfreund, and is also a regular parody song contributor on The Howard Stern Show. The video was directed by Richard Colmer, who also stars in it. It is a powerful visual companion to the song, following the ultimately tragic journey of a couple in love.
