Late-Night TV Music (Togetherness Edition) | April 27, 2020

John Fogerty, Dave Grohl, Alessia Cara & Yungblud start the week off right.

We’re all in this together. That’s become obvious these past few months. And it was reflected in Monday’s late-night TV musical appearances. Nobody made that clearer than the one and only John Fogerty, who enlisted his kids Kelsy, Shane and Tyler to back him on his Creedence Clearwater Revival classic Have You Ever Seen the Rain for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Meanwhile, Alessia Cara became her own backing band and chorus, multi-tracking performances in her childhood bedroom to assemble October for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. For his part, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl took the whole group dynamic theme in a more appreciative direction, serenading a health-care worker with a solo acoustic rendition of Everlong on Jimmy Kimmel Live. And finally, Yungblud raised the roof by taking to the roof with his bandmates to perform Weird on The Late Late Show With James Corden. It just goes to show: There’s more than one way to get it together. Now we all just have to keep it together.
