Do you prefer your dead rock stars live? You’re in luck with the latest crop of posthumous releases from David Bowie and Prince, all of which arrive in time for Record Store Day this April. Fans of The Thin White Duke can enjoy I’m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74), featuring previously unheard performances from shows in Detroit and Nashville. Subjects of His Purple Majesty, meanwhile, can rejoice in an embarrassment of riches: Reissues of 2001’s The Rainbow Children, 2002’s One Nite Alone …, two different live albums from that period, the concert DVD Live at the Aladdin Las Vegas, and the box set Up All Nite with Prince: The One Nite Alone Collection. Phew. That oughta tide you over until the next big superstar kacks. As always, of course, there are plenty of other albums on the way, including some from actual living artists.
