Here’s an interesting, one-of-a-kind item: A wing-shaped, die-cut promo poster for The Pretenders. It’s dated 1981 and was created by their label Sire Records, so I presume it was made to go with their sophomore album Pretenders II. But I really have no idea where the actual graphic originated — I haven’t seen it on other albums, shirts, posters or any sort of Pretenders-related fare. Maybe it was a unique creation, or maybe it was an idea that went nowhere. All I know is that I’ve had this forever, and I’ve never come across another one online. It’s about 30″ wide and not in perfect shape — you can see a bit of minor damage to the right of their name — but it’s still a pretty cool little item. If you have any more information on it, or if you’re interested in buying it, email me.
