Late-Night TV Music (No-Brainer Edition) | June 20, 2019

Condolences to Mumford, Ari & Himesh: Today, it's all about The Raconteurs.

There are days when selecting the main video for this post is honestly a tough call. Today is not one of those days. This morning, it’s a no-brainer: The top spot belongs to Jack White and The Raconteurs, who laid down the groovy rocker Help Me Stranger — the kinda-sorta title cut from their all-killer, no-filler new album Help Us Stranger — on Thursday night’s edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Even better: They’ll be back Friday night with another tune. You can’t top that. But that doesn’t mean you lack options. You can folk-rock out to Mumford & Sons, playing their recent hit Slip Away on The Late Late Show With James Corden, which has been broadcasting from London this week. Or you can get down with Ari Lennox’s saxed-up medley of Up Late and BMO on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Or you could even watch actor and singer Himesh Patel strum an acoustic version of The BeatlesYesterday to promote his silly new movie of the same name. But let’s not kid ourselves: Right now it’s all about The Raconteurs. Keep it steady as she goes out there today, folks.
