This is pop. It’s the title of a classic XTC single, of course. But it was also the theme of Thursday’s late-night TV music offerings. Of course, as we all know, there’s more than one way to pop. You can do it cool and sultry like Mark Ronson and Lykke Li’s performance of Late Night Feelings on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. You can do it big and shiny like Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic’s rendition of Rescue Me for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. You can even do it with a side of classical, like Regina Spektor’s string-sweetened presentation of Loveology on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Now, off I pop to review more new albums.
