Late-Night TV Music (Extra-Late Edition) | Dec. 4, 2018

Alessia Cara is the only fresh face in a lineup of late-night leftovers.

We all move slower than usual some days. I know I do. Seems like some of the late-night talk shows have been having trouble getting it together lately too. Most mornings, by the time I write this blurb, they’ve posted the clips from their latest episodes. But today, the only totally new clip comes from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Canadian pop princess Alessia Cara and her big suit showed up to perform her ballad Out of Love. The rest of the clips are all leftovers from the night before that were posted yesterday afternoon. You’ve got Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats delivering Hey Mama on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. You’ve got Jeff Goldblum tickling the ivories on Nostalgia in Times Square with his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra for the ever-effusive James Corden on The Late Late Show. And of course, you’ve got the nightly two-fer from Last Call With Carson Daly — today it’s French popster Jain, playing the reggae-influenced Come and the bouncy Star. Here’s hoping the networks get back up to speed today.
