And then there was one. Specifically, Anne Clark — better known as St. Vincent. The art-pop singer-songwriter had the late-night music market cornered on Tuesday. Thanks to a slow week in talk-show land, she was the only live performer on the air. Thankfully, her lovingly longing grand-piano rendition of (what else?) New York on Jimmy Kimmel Live’s second night in The Big Apple was more than good enough to stand on its own. But just so she wasn’t the only sucker in the city — and so you have something else to watch — I tossed in singer Bazzi’s statuesque performance of his ballad Beautiful from Wednesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show. You’re welcome.
