After taking some breathing space from music, London-based alternative soul artist Aruba Red is returning with the new EP Holy Waters and its premiere single Goddess Vibes — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist!
“Goddess Vibes centres around self-love and healing,” Aruba Red says in a press release. “It acknowledges the divine feminine, the sanctity of motherhood, and the ability we have to create our own experiences and reality. The song focuses on moving up through levels of consciousness whilst simultaneously moving back through the layers of trauma … like a journey of self-discovery leading to self-acceptance.”
Indeed, the vibes weren’t always light in recent years for Red. Having lost her father — legendary bassist Jack Bruce of 1960s supergroup Cream — as well as becoming a lone parent herself, she’s “been purifying a lifetime of toxicity,” she confides.
Redefining tragedy and trauma with beautifully evocative creations became her mantra, and the artist took the firestorm and created a spellbinding, sensual rebirth. “The stories I share deal with death, birth, motherhood, the spiritual realm, self-love, and breaking the cycles of addiction,” she says. “All while using the powers the universe has to offer.”
Holy Waters features Aruba Red’s signature brand of spiritual pop crossed with modern R&B. Defined by positive energy and mystical vibes, it delivers futuristic soul with an edge to leave you inspired, uplifted, and feeling a little bit otherworldly yourself.
Featuring contributions from award-winning composer Nitin Sawhney and Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera, Holy Waters is a musically rich, lyrically impressive celebration of strength and resurrection. See for yourself in the video above, and stream Holy Waters below:
