Late-Night TV Music (Different Directions Edition) | May 4, 2021

Wolf Alice, Manchester Orchestra, Thomas Rhett & Anitta keep things moving.

You know those days when you’re being pulled in six directions at once? Welcome to my Wednesday. Thankfully, Tuesday’s Late-Night TV Music offerings were slightly more organized. You had two impressive blasts of contemporary Britrock — in the form of Wolf Alice’s aggressive Smile and Manchester Orchestra’s artsy Bed Head, as featured on The Late Late Show With James Corden and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’s Play At Home. Also on the list: Thomas Rhett’s Country Again (again? Did he stop being country for a minute?) from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Anitta’s pop number Girl From Rio, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Enjoy. I hope your Wednesday goes more smoothly than mine.
