Charles Bradley is gone. But his music lives on. And soon there will be a little more of it. Less than a year after the Screaming Eagle of Soul died from stomach cancer, his label Daptone has announced it will be releasing his final album Black Velvet on Nov. 9. The disc will feature songs recorded during sessions for his three previous albums — 2011’s No Time for Dreaming, 2013’s Victim of Love and 2016’s Changes — along with some leftovers, rarities and covers including Neil Young‘s Heart of Gold, Nirvana‘s Stay Away and Rodriguez‘s Slip Away. Here’s a preview of the first single I Feel a Change, a smouldering soul stirrer set to a black-and-white video assembled from various bits of backstage and onstage footage.
