Classic DVD Review: Sammy Hagar & The Waboritas | The Long Road to Cabo

This includes everything you ever (and never) wanted to know about the red rocker.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

And what a long road it is.

Along with an interminable documentary on sometime-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar’s 2002 tour (with, believe it or not, fellow VH refugee David Lee Roth), this two-disc set includes everything you ever — and never — wanted to know about the red rocker. You get an exhaustive discography, a clutch of videos, some undeniably cool ancient footage of his band Montrose, a trivia game, a commentary track, a cooking segment and even footage of Sam showing you how to mix a Waborita. Speaking of booze, here’s a great drinking game: Take a swig everytime Sammy slags Diamond Dave behind his back. Trust me, it’ll make this trip a lot more enjoyable.
